Declan Montgomery

After Graduating from Oakhill College in 2017 Declan Montgomery immediately knew he wanted to pursue a career in acting. This is when he found Excelsia College and the three year course which offered a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts Majoring in Performance.

After three years at Excelsia Declan had several unforgettable experiences in performing, building quite the performance portfolio, some highlights include; starring in William Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’ as both Lysander and Nick Bottom. This show was performed both on stage and in a touring show for school programs. ‘After Dinner’ an Australian black comedy directed by prolific Stage actors Luke Joslin and George Kemp. The Leading role of ‘Peter Pan’ in a dark twist on the classic story in the play ’The Lost Boys’.

The college also offered world class education from leading industry creatives, Declan was personally mentored by Jay Laga’aia in improvisation, taught proper vocal and accent techniques from prolific voice coach Linda Nicholls-Gidley and several more industry leading creatives.

Since graduating Declan signed to the agency Benchmark Creative, has featured as a recurring role on a channel 7 comedy show ‘Watch Dogs’. As well as returning to Oakhill College to coach both intermediate and senior theatresports teams taking both teams to the Grand final at the Enmore Theatre.

Declan has an undying passion for acting and improvisation and is very excited to ignite the same passion and love for the craft within the children at Kids Up Front!
