At our camps we group the children in age groups. The actual groupings may vary and depends on the total number of children enrolled at camp and what their ages are.
5 & 6 year olds
Our minimum age is 5 years old.
Each morning our youngest performers attend 45 minute sessions with our specialist vocal, dance and drama tutors. They learn their fun song, funky dance moves and in drama they work with their tutor on developing their scene for the show.
Our young performers build confidence daily as they perform for the older children each afternoon. They are well prepared to wow their audience and are always the cutest part of the Friday show. They really enjoy watching the show come together and love watching the older children perform.
There is always plenty of time to play games and make new friends – especially at the beginning of the week.
7 & 8 year olds
This group participate in 45 minute morning sessions with our specialist vocal, dance and drama tutors who teach their song, dance and drama scenes.
Social interaction and team work skills are built through fun games and both boys and girls enjoy the fun and funky contemporary dances and are welcome to contribute their own ideas and moves.
The children’s confidence in performing and character development grows throughout the week as they perform for their peers and work together to create a great show.
(Please note eight year olds may be moved into the next group if we have a large number of seven year olds. We try to group friends together as much as possible if this is noted on the online registration.)
9 to 12 year olds
Children in this age group will be the main characters of the show. Each will have a character part and work with a script throughout the week. Casting of the show happens on the first day of the week with consideration given to children who may be coming later in the week. (Children coming later in the week will be given less lines to learn).
In singing and dance the children are invited to contribute ideas for actions and moves. Their confidence in performing and character development soars throughout the week as they perform for their peers and work together to create a great show.
They learn their songs, dances and scene-work in 45 minute morning sessions Monday to Thursday.
(Please note nine year olds may be grouped with eight year olds depending on how many children we have booked into this age group. We understand that they may prefer to be grouped with the older children – however they will still work with a script.)
All the age groups will have recess and lunch at the same time so everyone is free to play with friends regardless of age differences at playtime.
We endeavour to group friends together as much as possible if this is noted on the registration. However, we cannot guarantee that this will happen depending on numbers. Children who are not of the same age are unlikely to be grouped together.
