  • How are teachers selected and trained?

    Through interviews, teaching demonstrations, and reference checks. All staff must have a valid Working with Children Check and ID.

  • What are the drop-off and pick-up rules?

    Children cannot enter the venue until a teacher arrives. Teachers wait until all students are picked up. Late pickups may incur a fee or lead to removal from the class if repeated.

  • Are the venues checked for safety?

    Yes. Teachers inspect the venue each week and remove hazards before children enter.

  • Are parents allowed to stay during classes?

    No. Parents are expected to leave their child by the class start time. This helps to maintain a consistent and focused class environment.

  • What are the behavior expectations for students?

    Students are expected to be respectful, inclusive, cooperative, and follow safety guidelines. Disruptive behavior is addressed through reminders and warnings. Violence results in immediate parent contact.

  • What is the bullying policy?

    Zero tolerance. All bullying reports are investigated immediately to ensure a safe space for all students.

  • What happens if a child becomes emotionally distressed?

    Teachers offer support and communicate with parents. If the concern exceeds their expertise, referrals may be made to appropriate services such as Child FIRST.

  • Are teachers allowed to physically touch students?

    No. Teachers must maintain appropriate boundaries and are strictly prohibited from any form of physical discipline or unnecessary contact.

  • What happens in a medical emergency?

    Call 000 immediately. Then notify the child’s parents and Kids Up Front Head Office. First aid is administered only by trained staff.

  • What are the evacuation procedures?

    Teachers guide students to a safe outdoor area, take roll call, and stay put until the all-clear is given. Parents are contacted as necessary.

  • What are the lockdown procedures?

    All students and staff lock down in the room, sit away from windows, and no one is allowed in or out until the threat is resolved.
