Erica has been with Kids Up Front since 2011. Parents and students alike enjoy Erica’s unique and quirky style of theatre.
Erica is a theatre director writer and performer with a B. Performance from Theatre Nepean (WSU) and a Masters of Applied Theatre Studies from UNE.
She has a passion for education in the dramatic arts and is devoted to teaching young people and adults the joys and subsequent skills of theatrical storytelling. She has been teaching acting and performance making across Sydney since 2012 including workshops with Shopfront Contemporary Arts Co-op, ATYP, Excelsior College and Spark Youth Theatre.
Erica has written two plays for The Old 505 Theatre ‘A Feat Incomplete’ (2013) and ‘This Is Not Mills and Boon’ She has written dozens of short plays for young people and had numerous full-length original works produced for the Old 505 Theatre including, A FEAT INCOMPLETE, HERO AND COMPANION and THIS IS NOT MILLS AND BOON.
In June 2020 she was awarded an ABC Fresh Start Grant to develop a new animated series entitled PREGNANT DETECTIVE; a tongue in cheek film-noir creation celebrating (almost) motherhood, queer identities and everything Australiana.
Her directing credits include UNCOVER DOGS, METAFOUR- FOUR SHORT PLAYS BY SAMUEL BECKETT, EXPERIENCE & THE GIRL by Aanisa Vyiette and large scale puppetry performance EYELAND for the Woodford Folk Festival.
