Debbie Neilson

Debbie has worked for a number of years with Kids Up Front teaching singing and drama in after school classes and our holiday camps. She loves inspiring and teaching kids and she takes joy in helping a child’s confidence grow.

She has co-hosted live shows with Humphrey B Bear and tours with ‘Meerkat Productions’ where she travels to primary schools across QLD, NSW, VIC and ACT and performs two musicals from the shortlisted ‘Best picture book’ and ‘Younger readers book of the year’.

Debbie has performed in many musical productions such as: Fiddler on the Roof, Les Miserables, Spelling Bee and Footloose. Other theatre credits include: ‘Marianne’ in Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility (Manly Star of the Sea), ‘Peggy’ in Come Blow Your Horn (Lane Cove Theatre Company), ‘Mary’ in Coward at Christmas (Genesian Theatre), ‘Little Voice’ in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice (NEW Theatre), and ‘Dorothy’ in The Wizard of Oz (Strathfield Musical Society).

She has also been in the finals of Short & Sweet Sydney many times for acting, writing and directing. Screen credits include many short films one of which LEECH (with Terry Serio and Denise Roberts) was shortlisted for Tropfest 2012 and a feature film Ambrosia directed by Rhiannon Bannenberg. Debbie was a finalist in the Dungog Film Festival (speed auditioning) in 2010 and was a soloist in the NEW ZEALAND Beach Hop Rock n’ Roll Festival 2015.
